Staging the Clean House of Dust – A conversation followed by a performance by the New York Neo-Futurists

James Gallery, CUNY, New York
September 28, 2016

Ashley Brockington, Cara Francis, and Kyra Sims, members of the New York Neo-Futurists, presented a special interpretation of some of the text for The House of Dust by Alison Knowles. Based on their artistic tenets in the vein of Futurism—short form, original pieces, performed by the performers as themselves—the Neos made us all think about this text in a new and exciting way.

This event was presented as part of Social Choreography, an interdisciplinary research group devoted to intersections between art movements and social movements. The group wad supported by the Mellon Seminar on Public Engagement and Collaborative Research.

Co-sponsored by the Ph.D. Program in Theatre and the Social Choreography Mellon Seminar in Public Engagement and Collaborative Research in the Humanities The Graduate Center, CUNY.
