One within the Other is an exhibition within the exhibition, developed by artist Jagna Ciuchta at the heart of “A House of Stone,” at La Galerie. Ciuchta gathered thirty works with origins from different genres of art— some borrowed from the artists, and others from private and public collections. Throughout the exhibition, Ciuchta continuously transformed the arrangement, installation, and scenography of the assembled works.
For December 16, Jagna Ciuchta created a projection room within her exhibition and organized a screening also entitled One within the Other. In this screening, she invited viewers to experience a universe of desire, fantasy, and destruction, to get lost in the luxurious and exuberant images by Susan Pitt, to soak in the bizarre and colourful surrealist videos by Laura Porter and Valentin Lewandowski, and to surrender to the apocalyptic and psychedelic science fiction of Samir Ramdani.
